TUF 13 Contestants Chosen; Assistant Coaches Yet to Be Named

The upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter has announced it's cast of welterweight fighters. The season will begin airing March 30 and will air on Spike TV. Over the course of 6 weeks, 14 fighters will battle to earn their shot at becoming the next Ultimate Fighter. The list of fighters for this season is littered with international talent with ranging experience and styles.

Under the tutelage of former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and title contender Junior Dos Santos, 14 welterweight fighters will compete for the chance to call themselves The Ultimate Fighter. Though the head coaches have been named for some time, there has been no word on assistant coaches. A few names seem obvious.

For Brock Lesnar's team, Marty Morgan and Erik Paulson are likely candidates for primary trainers. Peter Welch, Lesnar's boxing coach and Rodrigo Medeiros, Lesnar's jiu-jitsu instructor are also likely to be brought on to assist the Division 1 All American.

In Dos Santos' corner, a laundry list of UFC champions and pound for pound talent will likely be announced as coaches. Probable names include UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida, former UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Rodrigo Noguiera (along with his twin brother) and recent Blackhouse newcomer and wrestling ace Mark Munoz.

Announced fighters:

Nordin Asrih of Dusseldorf Germany will be the most experienced fighter entering the tournament with a record of 15W-6L-1D. Asrih has fought almost exclusively in Germany and has competed under the M-1 Global banner, Cage Warriors and most recently GMA where he is coming off of a Submission victory over fellow German Eduard Janetzko.

Shamar Bailey is a fighter that isn't unaware of a big stage. The Indiana native who trains alongside UFC veteran Chris Lytle has fought for Strikeforce, M-1 Global and King of the Cage. The NCAA national qualifier is also a EMT in his home town of Indianapolis. His Mixed Martial Arts record is 10W-3L.

Len Bentley most recently fought for M-1 Global and has a career record of 9W-4L. The Texas native trains with Victory Athletics and has won the majority of his fights by Submission.

Michael 'Mick' Bowman is a British fighter that trains at Wolfslair alongside UFC Middleweight Michael Bisping. The Brit has a professional record of 7W-2L and has never fought on a big stage.

Keon Caldwell is 8W-1L in his professional Mixed Martial Arts career but nerves may play a factor as for the first time he fights on a big show.
