Rankings: Top 5 Light Heavyweights

1. Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua

The UFC's Light Heavyweight Champion will face top prospect Jon Jones ay UFC 128 in Newark, New Jersey. Coming off a viscious knock-out victory, Rua was sidelined by another knee injury. After being out of action for nearly a year, we will get to see if ring rust will effect the Pride alum.

2. Rashad Evans

Before being sidelined with an injury of his own, Evans was waiting for the return of the Champion after earning a #1 contender spot. A former champion himself, with only one loss coming at the hands of Lyoto Machida, Evans may be changing weight classes if teammate Jon Jones can get past Rua in the upcoming title match.

3. Jon Jones

At 12-1 in the UFC, and a sole loss coming by disqualification after man-handling Matt Hammill, the organization's superstar will face Rua for the Light Heavyweight Championship. With the longest reach in the UFC; measuring 84 inches, Jon Jones has an advantage in the stand-up against almost everyone. With unusal throws and striking techniques, Jones might just show veteran Mauricio something he hasn't seen.

4. Anderson Silva

The UFC's Middleweight Champion has experimented at 205 lbs a couple times, and in each outting the Brazilian has not only won, but astounded fans with incredible 1st round knockouts over James Irvin and former Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin.

5. Quinton Jackson

Winning his last fight against Lyoto Machida, Jackson proved himself to be one of the best in the division and managed to keep himself in the top 5 ranking. After taking a lengthy break to film the 'A-Team' movie, Jackson came back to lose to Rashad Evans. With his focus back on fighting, expect to see Jackson in a title fight later this year.
